Each Fall you will find some of the top runners in New England proving themselves on one of the toughest Cross Country courses in New Hampshire by most standards. Both Oyster River Middle School and Oyster River High School call DeMeritt Hill Farm their home course. The farm is also used by the Men’s and Women’s teams from the University of New Hampshire for training.
The current 5k course features 2400 meters of double-wide manicured wooded trails and 2600 meters of grass paths circumnavigating one of the most picturesque apple orchards New England has to offer. The course is challenging, with an uphill start and three big climbs. Patience may be the name of the game on this course as runners will want to have some reserve for the second climb leading up to the 2-mile mark as well as the climb to the finish, which is the steepest of them all.
