Here at the farm, we have taken on the largest planting project that the farm has ever experienced. In reality, the project started late in 2020 before the ground froze. The last few months of 2020 included doing projects like removing older apple trees, regrading and reshaping the land as well as adding a newly designed drainage system to eliminate wet areas in the orchard.
Throughout the Winter of 2020, the orchard was redesigned establishing new blocks of apple trees that were planted during the coming Spring. Over 3000 new apple trees were planted in March with the goal of this project being to increase the popular varieties that are grown now at the farm as well as to add several new varieties that will be enjoyed in 4 or 5 years from now.
